Małgorzata Przybyła-Kasperek
Starting October 2011 I am an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Computer Science of the Silesian University in Katowice (Poland). 
Before that I was a student at Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the Silesian University. The supervisor of my master thesis on "Shapley theorem" was Professor Władysław Kulpa. In my master thesis the use of topology issues in economics were considered.
After my graduation I began doctoral studies at the Institute of Computer Science. The supervisor of my PhD thesis, titled "Multi-agent decision-making system - analysis of conflicts", was Professor Alicja Wakulicz-Deja. In my PhD thesis the concept of making decisions based on dispersed knowledge was considered. My PhD thesis was defended with distinction, moreover, in 2013 I received the Rector's Award for the best doctoral dissertation.

Research interests
My primary fields of interest are decision-making systems (especially making decisions based on dispersed knowledge), rough sets, data mining and conflict analysis.
In my work I mainly deals with the problem of the use dispersed knowledge in decision-making process. Many important problems arise when taking decisions based on dispersed knowledge, for example inconsistency of knowledge stored in different knowledge bases and conflict analysis. To solve these problems I proposed methods of elimination inconsistencies in the knowledge and methods of conflict analysis. My research currently focuses on issue related to dispersed decision-making system with dynamic structure. In my work I use issues related to the rough set theory and the conflict model introduced by Professor Zdzisław Pawlak to generate a global decision.
